{"id":467,"date":"2023-10-13T18:38:56","date_gmt":"2023-10-13T07:38:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.drogueship.com\/?p=467"},"modified":"2023-10-13T18:54:51","modified_gmt":"2023-10-13T07:54:51","slug":"winamp-shutdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.drogueship.com\/index.php\/2023\/10\/13\/winamp-shutdown\/","title":{"rendered":"Winamp Shutdown"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Winamp has been bothering me by not closing itself when shutting down or sleeping\/hibernating and crashing on resuming after closing the laptop lid<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I tried a few variations of Event log monitoring with Task scheduler but all proved unreliable<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The solution was found in Group Policy by running taskkill.exe with \/IM winamp.exe as a parameter in Computer Configuration &gt; Windows Settings &gt; Scripts (Startup\/Shutdown)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>if you want to test it, enter <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>taskkill.exe \/IM winamp.exe<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>into the run prompt or command line while winamp is running.
